If you've tried and tried to help him and he still needs your help... It's time to be a friend. Help him, but find someone else to date that will treat you like you should be treated.

if u still love him, why r u giving up? if it's true love, u wouldn't even think of it. if it's just puppy love, tell him u need a temporary break from the relationship to figure things out for yourself. just ask him to be supportive of you until you're sure of where you want this relationship to go, or not to go, as the case may be.

as for being 'alone', it's just part of the package. you can't have your cake and eat it, too. that's just selfish and unfair to this guy.

Nothing lonlier than being with the wrong person... unless you still haven't found yourself. Sounds to me like you aren't comfortable being alone and so you are willing to put yourself through the pain of being with someone you know is not right for you... not good. If you can't make yourself happy - you won't make him happy either.

There are far worse things in life than being alone. You should never be with someone bc you don't want to be alone. I'd weigh the pros and cons. You can love someone and not be with them.

Wait, I really don't get it - if you love the guy, and on top of that you don't want to be single, why would you leave him?!

You can't have it both ways. It's not fair to the guy. Why do you want to give up on him?
