are there any superstitions or omens about blue jay birds flying right up to you and looking you in the eye.?
i was sitting out on the patio and i saw a blue jay flying right at me. it landed on the balcony edge so close to me i could without streaching reach out and touch it.it stood there for a min looking at me then turned its back to me turned to look at me almost like right into the eye and did not fly away until my daughter came outside. i called her out to see how close this bird had came to me. i had no food so why would it drop there next to me

Animals that act in a way that is out of the ordinary or that are in places that they shouldn't be are often trying to tell us something. I find the best place to look is a book called "Animal Speak" by Ted Andrews.
Blue jays for instance teach the proper use of power. It speaks of either you haveing power and is a warning not to misuse it. Or that someone may be misusing their power against you.
Either way there are lessons coming for you and energy to help you in whatever task you are undertaking. I strongly suggest the book though.

I dont think its a sign, but its cool. Blue jays are strange creatures, one time one of them stole an entire slice of pizza away from my sister! It just carried it away in its mouth, it was so funny.

I'm not sure about the specific thing that happened to you,but my dad said if a blujay perches or rests on your porch/front lawn then you'll have a visitor.
