WOW question?
My husband has an account and already has a character, I want to create my own character on his account, Can I do this? If so how? Any advice you can give me on how to get started? I do not know alot about this game yet, but it seems really cool and I know alot of people who play it. Thanks.
To create another account do we pay extra? or the one payment just add accounts?

You may play a character on his account, but you will never be able to play together.
To play together, you will need another accout, which means buying a full copy of the game. Accounts are based on a "Key" that comes in a boxed version of the game. Each key is only good for one account. You can buy accounts online without having to buy a physical version of the game, but you still have to pay for it.
You can do all of this online at Blizzard's site www.worldofwarcraft.com They also have lots of info for getting started http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/#gettingstarte...
You may also need a site like http://wow.allakhazam.com/ where you can look up any skill, item, quest, or monster to help get you started.

You can create as much characters as you want in a server, limited to one team a server; meaning you can have two characters 1 horde and 1 alliance, but each in a different server (you can't have a horde and an alliance in the same server).
To answer the additional details :-
You can have one account per WoW CD. To get another one you got to buy another CD with a separate payment from the first account.
If you want to play along with your husband, you will have to buy another CD for your own account. If you choose to share his account, your and his character won't meet or play together.

I am afraid that you will have to create a new account to play. Other than that, you could always play as your husband :-)
