That is a deep thought. Norm does exist, it just all depends on what exactly you are talking about. When you talk about the majority of people, those are the norm. For example in the U.S. the majority believe in God, and the minority believe in something else or nothing at all. The really religious people think who ever doesn't believe in God are weird and something is wrong with them.

Another normal thing is to graduate high school and to go to college. Almost everybody does that. There are a few who don't go straight to college afterward and people think that is a bad idea and think it's unusual.

But you're talking about individuals and I agree with you. There's that saying that everybody's special, but then if you think about that then it also means that nobody is special. I do say that I am weird and crazy. In most situations I think and do things very differently than any other person. It doesn't make sense to anyone else but it does to me. I guess we should all say that I am me and you are you.

good question, The thing is I think there is a such thing as a normal person, Like the people who dress in the trends and have that same look as everyone else, the odd ones are the ones who have their own style liten to the music nobody has heard of and so on. And I think it is a compliment that people call me strange, weird or odd....Is that weird of me to like it.

Normal and weird are subjective words. So only you can determine the parameters of their definition. If you have other people that agree with your definition it can add some weight to a debate situation on what is weird or normal but still boils down to your own interpretation. Although a statistician might say that normal is within the mean of set criteria and weird is outside the average, but again that would also be his/her opinion:)

I think the majority of people have a similar idea of things that make a person normal or weird, but it is all simply point of view. We are all different. That is the truth of it. Some things I think are weird, others think are normal. But I agree with you, in reality there is neither normal or weird, simply differences and perceptions.

Weird and normal are always relative to social norms. If someone breaks the social norm, they can automatically become weird even if they would integrate well into someplace else. Labels like that usually have very little meaning attached to them.

Everybody is weird to somebody. And everybody is normal to somebody else.

i think its just that people have their own opinions. and no, there is no wierd and normal. but there is normal, mentally retarded and physically disabled. yopu cannot say someone that has a mental condition is normal. they are normal to other retarded people yes, but to people that has no disabilities and no mental condition, they are not as normal as us. you know what i mean?
