Active Desktop Recovery?

Please can someone help me,after i have logged in to my lap-top, it comes up active desktop recovery. I click on restore my active desk-top and it says object doesn't support this action. please can someone tell me what i have to do.

    I've had that same problem. Try right clicking on the desktop, (ingnore the "active desktop recovery" screen). Select Properties, Desktop... and set your background to "none". I can't really tell you why this works, but it does. You can then go back and select another background if you like.

    Sounds like something is hanging up try safe mode to see if you can figure out what the problem is.
