2 months old puppy sick? cough?

Hi all,

I just got a puppy last night and I haven't had much time to spend time with her, when I go home I played with her for a little bit and then I tried t go to sleep but she would keep coughing and gagging more than a couple of times... I thought ok maybe she is hungry.. so I gave her a llittle food that the owner before me was giving her. She ate and went right to cuddle up with me and sleep, I woke up at 3 30 AM with her up and crying, so i put her on the ground and let her go around. So then i left and when i came back i tried to go to sleep but she kept coughing and gagging again! for a good 10 minutes. I got worried but it is sunday and there is nothing i can do, she stopped after we came out in the living room and now she is sleeping in my lap. she just coughed again. is this normal? for puppies to be gagging and coughing? I read in a website that it could possibly be changes in the environment.. with strong smells or such..

Possibly Kennel cough which is something pups get when they are confined to one area.It is very contagious and could make your puppy very sick.Take him to the vet ,it is not the cough that kills them but the other problems that sometimes come as a result of the bacteria,it can cause pneumonia and other complications. There is no cure for the cough only palliative treatment.Just stay on top of it and everything will be OK,also inform the person you got the puppy from and let them know your puppy has Kennel Cough or whatever ,but it sounds like kennel cough just by what you have said. Good Luck!!!!

"IF" the boxer pup has parvo, sure it could be spread to the other dog, make certain each are up-to-the-minute on all shots. I dont want to scare you, however a canine with parvo Can die. I had a husky puppie once and she or he was once very ailing, we took her to the vet and located that she had parvo, and obtained it from the mummy (the entire pups had been contaminated), "rasha" ( husky pup) had to be put down. (this used to be 10 years in the past, im not certain if they've determined a healing for it or now not). And be certain to get the pup checked at the vet, let them recognize what's going on. You could get the canine its "bordatella" .(which is like a liquid that the vet puts up the puppies nose, why i dont be aware of?..I concept it was once a shot, however i suppose not) the Bordatella will hinder kennel cough. The canine can get it from different dogs as well. Thats why i get the bordatella. U must seek advice the vet, due to the fact excessive vomiting isn't just right! Its also no longer typical for the pup to now not be eatting, specially at 2 months historical. Tak to your vet. Hope all goes well!!!!! Add: i trust Lacey.. If you happen to bought the puppy from a breeder (even though it wasnt a breeder) and it had kennel cough while you bought it, then yes it should be the breeders accountability to handle that. Ensure to talk to that individual!!

particular, it must be Parvo. I had a puppy who caught Parvo. not one of the older canine have been given ill. Vet, Now!! I in simple terms spoke with a chum traveling via Utah. Vet there pronounced they're having a Parvo outbreak. they're thinking it must be a clean stress. concept i might proportion what she informed me for all and sundry in that section. sounds like whoever bought her the puppy must be contacted too. Vet expenses for the kennel cough must be duty of the supplier because of the fact that puppy got here with it. At 8 weeks, domestic dogs can fall ill and dehydrate extremely without postpone. If it have been my puppy, i might bypass to the ER vet this evening.

Dogs often catch the same things humans do. It could be just a cough (as in cold) or something more. I'd make an appointment with a vet asap. You might want to call the person you bought her from, they may have a clue.

No this is not normal at all. Has this pup been vaccinated and wormed? One thing that comes to mind first is roundworm migration into the lungs. Then you think about Distemper and Bordetella. Take her to the vet.
