Redoing countertops?
I saw an ad for a product called "Stone Effects" that you paint over surfaces (it's a three step system with a primer, a colour and a sealer) to give them a stone/granite look. In the ad someone used them on their countertop. Has anyone tried this, and did it work? I've also heard Beauty Tone Granite works.

the two products you mentioned do work well, before you buy READ the directions on the cans, if it works on concreat out doors it will work for counter tops, be sure to rough up counters first but be sure to read labbles even before you do anything Good luck, Oddjobs,

If you want a truly good alternative to granite, try Stonemark. It's 100% real granite that comes with a protectant called PermaShield, which makes it stain resistant. Home Depot has it; in certain areas.
