Is it true that the movie the Transformers is inspired by an album by Lou Reed ?

    No. is this a joke? it's based on a children's tv show. I believe that the similarity in names is a coincidence, but I would have to listen to the album to be completely sure.

    Lou Reed did have an album come out in 1972 called Transformer, but I have yet to hear that it has any relation to the movie.

    Transformers (film) is a 2007 live-action movie based on the toy line.
