I recommend you compare the cost of a Disney cruise with the other ships that also sail out of Port Canaveral, Carnival and Royal Caribbean's (RCI). The Disney cruises will likely be about 30% higher than the Carnival or Royal Caribbean cruises.
All three cruise lines are family friendly. If you are big Disney fans, then the extra cost might be worth it to you. Otherwise, you will get more cruise for your dollar by booking with Carnival or Royal Caribbean.
I don't think Carnival has any cabins that will sleep five, so you would have to book two cabins. Royal Caribbean does have family cabins that sleep five. Some of Disney's cabins also sleep five.
As to prices, for the end of February 2008 (just a sample time frame so we are comparing apples to apples) for a standard balcony cabin:
3 nights Disney - $2895
4 nights Disney - $3395
7 nights Disney - $7377
3 nights Carnival (two ocean view cabins as there are no standard balcony cabins - two in one cabin, three in the other cabin) $1515
4 nights Carnival (two ocean view cabins as there are no standard balcony cabins - two in one cabin, three in the other cabin) $1635
7 nights Carnival (two cabins - two in one cabin, three in the other) $4745 (total for both)
3 nights RCI (two ocean view cabins) $1785
4 nights RCI (two ocean view cabins) $2035
7 nights RCI (two balcony cabins) $5195
All these prices are just samples for comparison only. By doing a little shopping, changing the dates and changing cabin categories (for example, a balcony cabin for the parents and an inside cabin across the hall for the kids) you could do better.
Please note, when you cruise also affects the price. For example I have a cruise booked in April 2008. The cost of the cruise during the second week of April (which is Easter vacation time) is 50% higher than the cost of the same cruise the first week of April.

I just came back from the Disney Cruise Ship "Magic" sailing in the Mediterranean.
Disney did an impressive job making sure every part of the cruise went smoothly from the time we landed to the shore excursions to dining and entertainment that only Disney can do.
There are over 70 counselors and pretty much all of Deck 5 is a great big center to keep kids busy all day long.
Disney had great stage shows everynight, movies all day long in one of three theaters along with seminars, wine tasting, shopping tips, and other interesting things for all age groups.
Disney costs were higher...but the Disney cruise matched our dates and destinations. We are glad we made the Disney choice. And you'll be happy you did as well.

im not sure what the price range is(sorry) but i do know that it is more than most of the other lines (royalcaribbean, princess, ncl) and for the ages of the people going i dont think that it would be worth it. i went on a disney cruise when i was 11 and most of the kids were like 3-9, and i did not meet anyone my age, or even see anyone older. i think you would be better off on a differnt line with a lower cost, and you will still have kids there ages.

i actually went on a disney cruise, that bahamaventoin thing, and i liked it pretty well. But when i was littler i went on a holland america cruise to alaska. I didn't like the cold weather, but i spent almost all of my time at the kids center. IT WAS FABULOUS! i would always suggest Holland America Line. And Im sorry i dont know how much it costs. But yahoo and (*shhhhhh*) google always help me! ;) hope i could help!
