when u get into the safe mode menu (pressing F8 when the computer starts). You will find at the middle of the list

run the last working configuration and u will get to the time b4 your computer crashed and hopefully b4 installing norton.

    Hi Star of Fla,

It seems that Nvidea has had some issues with that. And you're not the only one.

I will post you some links in the "source" list below, have a look at those as I don't want to tell you something that might damage your computer.

Also, I would get Avast and use it, if you have the means of cost, I would buy Bit Defender.

Get rid of norton, also it has a uninstaller/removal tool from symantec (link below)

Hope these help you... good luck.

    Uninstall Nortons from Safe Mode

Install AVG antivirus instead (free, better than nortons, and less of a resource hog)

Or if you insist, after uninstalling Nortons, restart and reinstall nortons.

Uninstall the software while in safe mode. When it boots up normally - just to make sure do a system restore to the day (on/before) you installed.

I agree with TN, Norton has a bad reputation for causing computers to crash. It used to be an excellent anti-virus program but these days it's a liability.

    AVG is much better.

Let it run into safe mode and then reboot
