My 6 mos. old terrier has a lump on his side infront of his leg. It's about the size of a flattened golf ball.

I just took him to the vet about 4 days ago for vaccinations. The lump appeared yesterday. He is acting normal and not scratching it. It feels warm to the touch. What could it be? A possible reaction to the shots or a bug bite? If so, how could a bug bite swell so large?

Update:

He doesn't react if I touch it and the spot moves.

Update 2:

I first noticed it 3 days after the vaccinations. It's firm, not squishy. Thanks for all of your answers.

Just call the Vet and take him back to have it checked out. I've actually never seen an animal have a bad reaction to vaccines. Might be a bug bite... could be a ton of different things. Best thing to do is have it checked out. Might just be fluid. Is it firm or squshy? Does it move at all. Is your dog sensitive to it if you touch it? When did you first notice it? -- all good things to know when you call the Vet.

You should take it to a vet! It may be a bug bite because when i was on a trip with my family i got a bug bite and it got swollen.
