NTSE Interview Stage Class 10: in need of some guidance!?

I have been selected for NTSE Interview stage for Class 10 (I have recently passed class 10 --- CBSE 96%!!). I have the following doubts:

1. I studied for Round 2 from TATA McGraw Hill's study material for NTSE (obviously, it was useful). Can I do the same now?

2. Agreed it is an interview in essence, but are there any written objective-type questions?

3. Do they ask hard questions or simple ones? From which subject(s)? Can we choose which subject we would like to be interviewed on?

4. What sort of personal questions do they ask?

5. Are questions based in GK asked (I read the paper front to back everyday and watch news channels, is that enough?)?

6. Is there any time-frame within which the results are declared? Please share any personal experiences.

All NTSE scholars or those who attended the interview previously please do answer, since this scholarship means a lot to me!

Thank you for your help

PS: I have opted for MPC (Maths-Phy-Chem) stream for Class 11 and 12

    hi,

iam also preparing for ntse interview, but for class 8. i think that there is no written type questions.GK IS VERY IMPORTANT.this is the factor which helps u to go beyond or transcend the rest competitors.so, master the factor which helps u to move distintly ahead.on the other hand, subject knowledge is also very important.they will ask u discuss ur views on some recent current affairs. but they will test us even in science. they ask some tricky questions on science.this is to check whether we have just memorised science or we know to apply in our practical life.u must have the analytical and reasoning skills. first thing they will ask is to introduce urself. don't be tensed to face the interview.be cool and calm.if u don't know something, say it .they test ur charactor also.these r all some basics.have a positive attitude.they can ask u why u want to be a ntse scholar.be frank and smart also.u must pre-planned to answer all those personel questions.u must have good communication skills.read some books on facing a interview.there is no specific books for the interview. u must be a voracious reader from ur childhood.u must be intelligent already,u can't gain anything now. u must be a extempore.u must have the ability to express ur thoughts and views correctly.u must use some words which can impress the interviewers.but be yourself and show ur personality, don't be artificial !! read competition sucess review.i think u can't prepare with TMH book. interview is diferrent from ntse exam.

questions will change from person to person. we can't say that they will ask u as hard one or not!! u must be prepared mentally to tackle all the questions smartly.it all matters on ur luck and fate. they test u whether u r a book worm with only bookish knowledge or u have the ability to express urself well in speech. the competition is going to be the toughest,as u r going to compete with the country's bests.

u must have a sound knowledge on all subjects.u must be a all rounder. the interviewers will know whether u can be selected or not, the time u leave the hall !!.u can go to orkut and search for communities like "ntse scholars". and i know a ntse scholars,i will send their email ids personally.it must be a milestone in ur life if u get the scholarship!!! face the interview with self-confidence and harness ur full potential to win it.all the best!!
