I am still having trouble~~?
with my scanner. It will scan a picture and save on the computer...when I check out the picture it is black. Then I try to rescan it and a message apprears "Sorry scanner could not be initialized (scanner not found)". How can I fix this problem? A year ago the scanner worked just fine. I did install it and then removed and reinstalled it....nothing isn't working. When I check out the DEVICE MANAGER the scanner is not listed but is listed under the programs. My scanner is an hp scanjet 2200c....thank you for any help~~

Check or replace the cable going to the computer to the scanner, there may be something wrong with it, also do a search for a "TWAIN" driver, it may be bad or missing, the software may be listed under programs but if its not listed under device manager then it is not being found by the computer, what is under the programs may be the software not the driver. check in control panel and look under scanners and see if it is located there if not, there may be a driver issue or a bad cable like i stated above

If your scanner is plugged into your PC's USB port you must make sure the the USB port is listed in the device manager and has a driver installed.
