Why all the hatred towards Landon Donovan???

I also would like sources about him pissing on the Estadio Jalisco. Since I haven't seen the proof, I think its not true.

I like the US team, I just don't like Donovan that much but I definitely do not hate him. My reason is that he hasn't been playing good for LA Galaxy. He's suppose to make the team work well with one another but all I see is a broken up team. Teams should be like family! They should all laugh, smile, joke around, not ignore one another. As a captain, he needs to change things. That's one way LA Galaxy can win and be better.

Primadonovan is overrated, he pussed out of germany cus he didnt have the quality to play in Germany. It is true. Borgetti is a different type of player then him, donovan plays as a CAM, Borgetti is a true striker. the english league is tops, big sam didnt like borgetti, Borgie scored 7-10 goals for bolton in some 30s starts or subs. Borgetti is way older then landon. but like 8-10 years. BIg difference. Landon has a big mouth, is arrogant and rude, plenty of times the mexican press was told to F*#$K off by donovan, thats a classy person right? Hes on tape saying it. If donovan is the best product of american soccer, thats sad! sure he is a good player, i like his passing and reading the game ability. But He plays in the MLS!!! I support the MLS i go to games but its a sub par league. Donovan still has alot to prove. Even the fox soccer channel show Football Phone in. The two english dudes make fun of landon too for the same reasons. American soccer fans need to realize that he is not the answer. He did nothing in the World Cup for the USA. HE did piss on AZtec staduim, thats the home of mexican soccer. No mexican players have done that on any US field!! MAybe some mexican fans are morons, but that doesnt make every mexican supporter a moron too, I have been to us mexico games and i have heard racist remarks from US fans , but does that make every US fans a racist, no! US fans are stupid becuase the majority of them DONT KNOW FOOTBALL, they just run their mouths,and act like the US is all powerful.

His arrogance is besides the point, I think the disrespect towards Donovan started when he took a piss on Estadio Jalisco, which is practically a national shrine.

As a player, I think he is not very multifaceted, so I don't think he should be the poster boy for your beloved National Team, I much perfer Eddie Johnson or Brian Ching.

Also I consider Borghetti as Mexico's Donovan, he's only useful for one thing, which is aerial attack.

In short, I'm indifferent about him, he plays in the MLS, which I don't follow.

LandyCakes as he is referred to on WorldSoccerDaily Radio show is a talented player but the stuff he does off the pitch and his arrogance is was makes people hate him as a player.

I have no idea how he ever was the Captian of the US National Team and the Galaxy....he shows no leadership .....

I think what did it for me , and I never been a fan of his but I respect players...and I lost respect to him when Bradley in June was asking for players to join the squad for the Copa America tournament....one of them being Landon.....

He is captian and he is the number 1 person who should of gone.....thats what a leader does. Instead of going to the coach....and goes and makes a public announcement to the media that he was not interested........Is that what a Captain does...? Its a HONOR to wear your countries colors and this kid does not understand that.

And then his comment about Beckham in the Sports Illustrated article saying Becks should throw some money at the players on his team is just disgraceful.....even as a joke...its not cool to say that....

Hopefully Becks will teach him about what a true professional athlete should be like......its more than just skill that makes an athlete.....

jealous?? of course not bro, I'm Mexican and... well Donovan's not bad but he's not great either, lets say that he is just good and also you cannot compare him with Jared because they are very different I mean Jared went to England when he was 30 and Donovan was younger when he moved to Germany and also Jared is not our favorite player I mean maybe he was but now we have Rafa Marquez, Guillermo Ochoa, Nery Castillo, Andres Guardado, Giovanni Dos Santos and, no offense but, I think they are better than Donovan

Great question! I think Donovan is very good player, and could become a great player, and--more importantly--I think he has a good attitude and a good personality. I don't understand all the hatred he gets.

He urinated on Estadio Jalisco. No one in the National Mexican Team has ever disrespected another player or national team in that manner. It's like peeing on your flag! Mexican fans are not jealous of this being. We don't have to be, for goodness sake! There's always going to be that rivalry between the US and Mex in football (soccer).

i am an american and i do not hate him,but i do not think he was good when he play for bayern leverkusen and he was never fit in with a GERMAN CLUB anyway.Compare between donovan and borghetti i think the mexican man play better with the header,donovan? i feel he act like he a big star and arrogant freak!i remember at world cup 2002 in Japan he can not even score again the best goalie OLIVER KAHN because of premature and nervously of a kid in front of a tiger KAHN!

we hate donovan because he represents the us national team, and we hate losing to usa. mexico always creates more scoring opportunities than usa, however the usa gets a couple opportunities and converts them. its not fair. donovan always scores and ive heard he has made some nasty comments. That aside, donovan is the greatest american player of all time.

Okk he thinks hes all bad but cant play for crap....ok how can you compare borgetti in england to donovan in the mls.... if they were to put borgetti in the game more then some stuff would happen but noooo he barely played games..try comparing donovan with someone who actually plays games...stop trying to compare someone who did bad somewhere....your just trying to get a plus to get people on your side
