Homosexuality in Malaysia?
I'm curious to know how the LGBT community is tolerated in Malaysia. Are they treated poorly or do they have their rights?
How does both the society and the government view homosexuality?
Your answers, be it good or bad, would be appreciated, thank you.

Society doesn't really accepts them, neither it rejects them fully. Malaysia has a lot of transsexuals, much more than in any Western country and although they rarely take up mainstream jobs, they can be seen working, nobody obstructs them.
LGBT community has no rights in front of the law, homosexual sex is considered illegal and carries imprisonment, however, there is no enforcement on that.
Most of homosexual politicians, businessmen and other career people get married to hide their homosexuality from public, yet there is a large number of homosexuals in those circles, which occasionally reflects in homosexual sex-related scandals (for example a murder of a boy from PR China who was abused by a homosexual Chinese Malaysian Datuk - some silly title government gives to VIPs - and found dead in his pool).
Homosexual prostitution (transsexuals) is common in Malaysia and from what I hear from the locals, can always be located at certain spots, which means there is no enforcement on that as well.
Somehow I notice that gay Malays prefer to be effeminate gays while gay Chinese and Indians prefer to be masculine gays.

On the surface they're not, but deep down, many of them are. Don't ask me how I know... its just part of society and everybody knows it.
Treated poorly (very)
Know their rights (not many... even the 'straight' ones don't even know their rights!)
Society and government (outcasts)
My answer is nothing about 'good' or 'bad'. I still see them as human beings, regardless of their sexual orientation as long as they don't start grabbing my butt...
The main issue about homosexuality is the attitude from those 'fussy' petty ones that irritates a lot of people. As for the rest of the others, I guess that's okay. I mean, they should know how to behave like ordinary people and not ASKING for respect.
In countries where homosexuality is blended into their cultures, it is absolutely accepted and you don't find that inferiority complex as you do in Malaysia.

Gay unions are not recognised and they have no rights. The younger generation, especially those who've had exposure abroad are more open. Thus, more are coming out of the closet. This being a Muslim-majority country, the general society still scorn upon the LGBT community.

In Malaysia or in a muslim country, LGBT is consider a sin. Therefore you hardly see that community in the country. Where laws are strict about it is better to avoid troubles....

I think you mean that if my country is against my homosexuality? In some way, it is. Too many homophobes. In other way, not so much because at least civil marriage is legal here. It's something... Oh, and I'm from Ecuador.

Homo or not they're still human beings. They have feelings too.
They're frowned upon both in society and government point of view.

Not tolerated as it may lead to extinction of human race. Dinosaurs tolerated it very much, that's why

Homosexual marriages are not allowed in Malaysia. however, there are gays commonly in malaysia. They prefer to keep their sexual interest secret in the morning, but they became wild at night.

Why bother what the government or society thinks. Most importantly, what does GOD think?? He did not create Man and Man..or Women and Women. It's a sin.
