Can anyone help w/VCR repair?

DVD/VCR combo- vcr tapes eject without playing. Have unplugging for over 45 minutes to reset it. This didn't work. Any other suggestions?

Update:

does anyone know where I can find diagrams (etc) to help me to determine what inside is supposed to look like?

You either have a broken gear in the loading portion of the cassette or the gears are misaligned. If the power shuts off, then I'd guess alignment, if not, then maybe a broken gear. You can also take the cover off & check that nothing is in the VCR to cause it to eject, anything that would cause the tape to not want to go down all the way or you can even try another tape.

There is a switch inside that selects between DVD and VCR. It most likely needs replacing, take it to the shop.
