So far, I've been to Trinidad & Tobago (the Trinidad part) once, & Barbados 6 times. I lived in Barbados temporarily.
People from both countries were very friendly. I had a stopover in Trinidad, and I left the airport to go to its capital, by a cab to go to use the Internet cafe briefly, then back. The taxi driver, by the name of Lennox, was very nice. He did not want my money, we were "arguing", like I said I insist, he refused, it was a cycle, but he still refused, so in the end, I kept it. But honestly, he should of taken my money for the cab fare and back.
Barbados is very beautiful. It is one island that has me coming back, because of my friends and boyfriend that reside there. That island has A LOT to offer. A lot to do, to see. ;)
I love both countries - both very nice, and hopefully, I'll get to discover more Caribbean islands in the near future. ;) I really would love to set my foot on Tobago. :) I hear it's very beautiful!

I am from the Caribbean island Dominica (not the Dominican Republic) and I have also travelled a few other Caribbean islands.
Dominica is by far the most naturally beautiful caribbean country With several national parks one which is a world heritage site. The rugged terrain and untouchd beauty is the reason why the movie Pirates of the Caribbean 2&3 were filmed here as well as the CBS reality series "Pirate Masters".
Unfortunately not much visitors give our island a try.
Reasons being that it is not overcommercialsed(not well known or advertised as much) which could be to one's advantage as the place is not over crowded and a genuine tourist service is offered rather than the tacky fake smile service.
Surprisingly the island has more to offer than most of the other islands such as whale and dolphin watching(we were branded as the Whale Watching Capital Of The Caribbean)..Our Waters like our forests are pristine and very unique. There are submerged volcanic craters near the sea shore which makes it excllent for both scuba diving and snorkelling infact we were rated as the 2nd best Scuba/snorkelling destination in the entire Atlantic by readers choice magazine 2007.
The island doesnt offer the same old Sun Sand and Sea vacation but rather the Eco-tourism one. Many small hotels/villas/guesthouses dispersed around the islands (some in the rainforests itself) in different areas have been awarded several prizes for the "green " practises.
The other things to do here on dominica are kayaking, horseback riding, hiking to one of our many one-of-a -kind sites such as our infamous boiling lake(largest of its kind and only one in the western hemisphere),Atv Riding(did that is Great!),discovering a new waterfall, visiting one of our freshater lakes, going to out nature adventure park, river tubing..etc ect list goes on
I have been to St lucia which is the only island that reminds me of Dominica..sorta like a sista island but due to its developments much of its previous natural beauty has been lost but you will find well known resorts there like "Sandals"
Barbados is great for night life and for the Sun Sand And sea Vacation.Antigua as well
Ill leave u with some websites of Dominica

I am from Dominica and my wife is from St.Kitts. I have been to several of the other islands. Dominica, known as the nature island of the Caribbean, is relatively undeveloped, is very bautiful, although it receives 300 inches of rain annually, there are many sunny days. The rain is mostly in the rain forest, which is a World Heritage Site.
Happy vacatoining.

The Caribbean is very nice. It really depends on where you are going. Costa Maya is really nice, little and very laid back. Grand Cayman is wonderful, but very expensive. Belize is nice. The water in all the places is really very pretty and clear. The people in all of the places are nice and friendly. You have to remember it is not the USA. We love it down there.

If you want to go to a place in the Caribbean you should go to Antigua. It's really nice and fun especially in August and if you like the beach it's even better because they have 365.
