I know! I think she did that because she knew she was killing off Dobby and he would have been the House elf leading all the others in the battle, but since she killed him (sniffle) she needed another.
That's why she told them to put Kreacher in the movie!!! lol

Yes, I really do. I didn't image he would become more active in the 7th book and everything, but once I got to Kreachers chapter.. I felt very sorry for the little guy! Really, people mistreat him just because they can, while good ole Regulus is there. But, before the 19 years later part, even though Jo didn't mention it, I'm guessing Harry let Kreacher be free. Kreacher would have deserved being free. I grew to like Kreacher a whole bunch after reading the book :)

Yes, that was one nice turn around in the book. In the end, I was a little disappointed with the book on the whole, really. Snape didn't get as much of the lime light as I was hoping, though I knew he was truly against Voldemort all along and in love with Lily. I really thought that there would be more of a confrontation between Harry & V. Whilst the mid-air scene was really interesting, they really didn't have much of duel at all, just knocked each other out in the forest, and then the third and final go round was just way too much talking and then it was over way too quickly. I thought too much of the book was spent following Harry and crew around and too much hiding and too much lag between things happening.
I also didn't understand how the Gryffindor sword ended up back in the hat when Griphook took it.
I guess I was also disappointed with the 19 years later chapter - there were a lot of things I didn't care for about that chapter in particular. Harry/Ginny was great and so was Ron/Hermoine - both predictable and a much welcome thing, but I really thought there should have been something more --- wasn't Harry baby Lupin's God father?
I guess, after reading the rest of the book, it might have been nicer if Harry & Draco were more friendly to each other, and I really thought some of the names were a little goofy. Though it was a nice tribute to have little Lily & little James, Albus Severus Potter doesn't have a nice ring to it, nor does Hugo and Rose Granger. And Scorpious Malfoy?? What? Who in their right mind............. well, anyway. .. it's just a book and all in all, it was OK at best.
Glad it's over, though, and I hope the movies continue to improve in quality as they have been.

um, he's a total head-case. NO BODY can change like that! you can't just flip a switch, and then the murderous little bastard is skipping about doing your bidding and making you breakfast and sprinkling your pillow with rose petals.
well, actually, it give Dumbledor a couple extra points, cuz he was ALWAYS going on about how we're s'possed to be KIND to Kreacher, "he is what he has been made by wizards, show a little empathy you dirty little scar-wearing, block-headed scumbag???" I dunno. I was just really disappointed with the book. It seemed REALLY fake.
I'm operating under the theory that she wrote a good portion of the book DRUNK, and has been getting online and reading people's FanFics, which isn't really fair but she prolly justifies it, seeing as she OWNS it..... I can't believe she killed TONKS! I HATE HER!

Kreacher rocked. I so loved him in this book. I was glad Hermione was finally proved right.

Yeah! I hated him at the 5th book, but when I saw he was really happy when Harry gave him the locket and then help him bringing Mundungus, a realized he really changed and I liked him...I was glad when he was fighting too.

Yeah, he was so nasty in the last one! He kind of ended up helping HP out. But poor old Dobby - I wept over that.

ABSOLUTELY!
It made me feel better about Hermione's constant support of the House Elves too.
