I'm helping a friend with her Halloween party, and here are some ideas I've found:

"Voodoo in the Big Easy" theme - do we still have the Mardi Gras party decorations and masks?

    Black and Orange Ball

    "From the Neck Up" theme

"Masked Ball" theme...here are some pictures from a "Fantasy" masked ball, but you could literally just have people wear masks:

Halloween cocktail party - cocktail attire and fun drinks...

    Murder mystery party...

Scary Movies...you don't actually have to show any of the movies, but here is a cool game AND decoration in one...

    "Halloween Movie Master Game

How well do your guest know Halloween movies? Well Shannon create this game for her Halloween party. Set up different "homages" (create scenes) to scary movies and have guests try to guess (as singles or in pairs) what they were.

Examples: One of my tombstones in the graveyard read "GAGE" - the kid from Pet Semetary,

A Cianti bottle sitting next to a plate with a piece of liver and beans on it, - Silence of the Lambs

I had a guest register set up by the door for people to sign in with the name Marion Crane at the top - she's the woman from PSYCHO. If possible have 15 -20 movies represented and have the people who score the most movies - win a small prize or a gift certificate to Blockbuster."

If you live out in the country have a bonfire and tell scary stories while roasting smores! If you live in town or a big city rent some scary movies and order pizza. You could always have a costume party and play music.

All the guests stand in a line. Use a food that is quite long and relitavely thin. The players have to pass it to the end of the line using only their mouth; the last person eats it.

I've always wanted to set up an inflatable pool and fill it with pumpkin guts and have "pumpkin wrestling" ..like mud wrestling and/or wet t-shirt contests. Doesn't that sound like a blast. I can't ever talk my friends into it around that time of year though. I hope you have better luck.
