I'm trying to figure out if there is an actual or realtime view setting in google earth?

For instance if my friend is on his driveway, can I see him? Or can I see my home at night? So far I don't think this option is availiable...is there a program that does this?

Nope, unfortunately. The only way you can do that is if you're in the CIA and have access to the government's recon sattelites. All the pictures on Google Earth have been taken by satellites up to years ago, they're not uploaded in real-time. That's why you may be able to see your house, if it's been there for years, but you won't be able to see yourself if you walk outside with your computer.

For Google Earth I don't believe you can do that. It's pretty crazy though. Are their cirlces covering Area 51 when you look, I can't see it. Just wondering if you can.
