Cant be heard too?
I can hear others on Yahoo but no one can hear me. I went in to control panel as some one suggested and turned off mute, also where the call icon is "muted" keeps coming up but it's defiantly not on mute. when I do a sound check the lights flash on when it plays the music but not when i talk and have made sure that it's plugged in correctly, would appreciate any help

I've been struggling with a headset-microphone problem for two days, not for Yahoo, but for Skype.
I finally went and got a set that plugs in with a USB connection and it's much improved--the only problem is that it sounds like I have a lisp, which I don't have and there's noise in the background.
Have you tried working through the checks that are on your computer AND any checks that Yahoo offers? On my computer I go to Start>Control Panel >Sounds Speech Audio Devices>Sounds and Audio Devices>Audio
to check things out.
