Inflatable mattress vs. folding camping cot?
I'm relocating to another town half way across the country. I'll be starting new in town with just what I can carry on the plane. What I would like it know is: which is more comfortable or lasts longer, an air mattress or a folding camping cot? There is no problem with me finding either in the town, when I get there.
Are folding camping cots comfortable? Do they fall apart in the middle of the night? How long do you think one would last? (I might need it to last for 3 months)
I slept on an Aerobed at one time for 2 months. I was not pleased with how it lost air during the night most of the time. Are there any air beds that you recommend?

I can tell you from experience folding out camp cots are not comfortable at all. They are like sleeping on the floor with less room. I suggest an aerobed for sure i have experienced the air loss in the middle of the night also but this can be from the plastic stretching and until it is completely broken in it will continue to do this. Make sure your air intake is sealed off as best you can. I have slept on a aerobed for 3 nights without pumping it back up. They are the best choice for your money and a lot more comfortable.

I highly recommend a Therm-a-Rest. I have four of them and they seem to last forever. They are extremely rugged, comfortable and come with a lifetime no questions asked warranty that the company will honor with no problem.
Cabela's also sells a look a like at a lower cost but I don't know how good their quality compares.

a cot gives you a firmer sleep, but its a pain in the **** to set up. an airbed can be a pain too if you have to blow it up with your mouth. also the air loss thing eventually starts to cause back pain. i recommend a cot with a foam pad on top of it.

I swear by my Intex. I use one instead of a regular bed, and it's very comfortable. It has a built in pump, and only has to be re-pumped up about every two weeks. I recommend you get a two tier type, it give height equivalent to a regular bed. Dream On...

Comfortable. I'm extremely flexible. I bend like Gumby. ...on second thought, sock drawer might be pushing it.
