Does the Michigan Wolverine have a name?

No several names have been purposed but the university thinks that it is unnecessary and undignified and would not properly reflect the spirit and values of Michigan athletics. So not they are just the wolverines. Click the Link for more info.

They've got Brutus Buckeye for Ohio State, Sparty for Michigan State...but I can't find if the wolverine is anything more that just "The Wolverine"

First of all, Michigan does not have a mascot on the field like other schools. The nicknames are for the mascots themselves, I.E. Sparty or Brutus, not for the teams themselves. They are just the Wolverines.

Now, in reality, who would really want to dress up in a suit of a weasel or a horrible tasting nut and parade around all day? Not like that fierce warrior Sparty. There is a real mascot for you.

As far as I know the Wolverine doesn't have a name. They're just the Michigan Wolverines.

We are simply the best. Refer to anything associated with the University of Michigan as the best. Our mascot doesn't need a punkass name! Go Big Blue
