i think the clubs and pubs are much cleaner and i definately dont smoke as much. I think after a while you will get used to it, bit like being in a hospital or on a plane you know you cant so it doesn't seem to bother you so much. No it wouldn't make me stop. Also the last time i was out we seemed to have a very own little community of smokers outside and had a right laugh so maybe its not all bad for us.

More of our rights taken away,I smoke and I always respect others,But there is places to smoke and places not to.One day last week I was in a casino in a proper smoking place and some obeist woman sit down beside me,I had been there for 4 hours and I lit up a smoke she informed me she did not like it,I told her she was in the smoking section and I had been there for awhile not that it made her any difference, she got about half crappy about it so I told her I don't appreciate fat smelly people either but they had not passed a law on that yet.She really had something to get grumpy about then, anyhow I won out.I will not suggest anyone to smoke, but I do and I don't want someone to tell me what I can or cannot do.

I stopped smoking a couple of years ago - MY choice! When I'm out with my hubby, I've started going outside with him - tae hell wi' sitting on my tod in the pub! Mind you, when the weather's bad that's when I'm glad I stopped when I did. Feck that trying to light up yer f*g in a force 9 gale or when it's pissing it down!
Anne Widdecombe (Tory MP) had the right idea. The sensible (and simplest!) way would have been to have pubs, clubs, etc which only employed smokers.

I feel that the ban was wrong, unacceptable, and is just the start of worse things to come. I am planning on giving up smoking in the next couple of weeks, but only because I can't stand those puppy dog eyes from my children, when they ask "are you giving up smoking soon dad?"
If it wasn't for my family, I doubt I'd even try to give up.
Only difference is, now that there is a ban we smokers tend to talk to each other a lot more, whereas before, it would just be a 'Hi' - don't know why that is.

not much difference except outside people complain by being left inside on their own and others complain when non smokers use up outside seats.what`s the reason the government have done this to divide people or what?

my workplace is now non smoking...so i go outside. when its pouring down with rain...i delay my cigarette & by the end of the day (living in england with its rain) - i have cut down quite a bit.
i wont give up until i want to ..and i wont be bullied into quitting... but so far... the ban has been good for me personally. i think if we are really honest...its not a bad thing!

No, the only difference is going outside. NO I will not be dictated to and give up. I'll do it for me and nobody else.
Could you imagine how much tax the government would lose if everyone in this country gave up for one week?
Maybe we should try it and then see if they rethink their stupid law.

ha our local lets us smoke
i go into about three pubs that allow smoking .
we have letters on the bar that say we are giving you the freedom to smoke if you wish , the place was heaving
we have landlords who arent afraid to stand up to this silly goverment
the rest of the pubs stink of sweat , dirty carpets and stale beer
i aint quitting
