DO you know of any good laid-back bars in SE Portland/Clackamas area?

what kind of music? you can chill out at doug fir, they have live bands and fabulous drinks. There's alot of places on hawthorne, oh wait, go to belmont, there's a place called blue monk? great drinks jazz down stairs. There's also it's a beautiful pizza across the street. happy birthday to your neice. if you want to party it up alittle chopsticks is so much fun, it's a kareoke place with stiff drinks and alot of fun. even if you don't sing? it's greatly entertaining.

Good Foot on 20 something and Stark is awesome.

Sewickly's in Hawthorne serves really strong drinks, but is kind of a dive. White Eagle near the Rose Garden has some good bands.
