What are the best shore excursions for my Caribbean cruise?

I am going to Labadee, Haiti; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Grand Cayman Island ; and Cozumel, Mexico. I am going in November. I would also like to know if you can just bring your own snorkel stuff and just find your own snorkeling places at any of these stops instead of going with a group.

The best excursions are not booked through the cruise lines. We usually get off the boat, grab a taxi at the end of the pier with a group of people, and go see the island. It cost us $25/PP to take a 4 hour basically guided tour that made a bunch of stops for photos, etc. Saw all the sights that the cruise ship make you pay to see each. You can bring your own snorkel stuff and hit a beach resort (might cost you a little for open bar and snacks).

The best snorkel tour in Cozumel is probably eagleraydivers.com guided 3 reef snorkel trip. Jamaica I would recommend Dunns river falls. Grand Cayman Island I would recommend stingray swim.

Yes, bring your own snorkel stuff. Rent a car or ask the cabby to take you to the best snorkel place on the islands.

Be sure to find out how much before you get in the cab. I know you can do shore snorkeling from Grand Cayman and Cozumel. I don't know about Haiti and Jamaica. I would do a shore excursion in those islands.

Sounds like you will have much fun. Enjoy.)

I've been to Cozumel and really enjoyed the excursion I did there. It was at the Playa Mia Beach Resort. It is about a 15 minute cab ride from the port. You could purchase tickets from your ship or when you get there. It is not with a group, you can do it on your own. It was like $30 pp. The cab was $14. All non motorized water sports and drinks are included, food was not, but the price was reasonable. You can pay for motorized water sports like waverunners. They have a pool there. It was a wonderful experience and very relaxing. No pressure as we could stay as long or short as we wanted. Check it out for yourself, I'm sure you will find it enjoyable. Also Labadee is like Coco Cay. It is a private island. You will have to pay for any excursion type thing you want to do as well as drinks, but they put forth a wonderful BBQ style lunch and I'm sure you will like that as well. Any other information for your ship, see

that should tell you anything else you want to know.

    Enjoy!!!

In grand Cayman the water is very pretty and very clear. I snorkeled right off the beach and I took my own stuff with me. Cozumel you can snorkel right off the beach also and it is pretty if you get the right place. If you go in a group sometimes you do not have enough time, just depends on you and the money you want to spend.
