New baby, what should i splurge on?

my nephew was born a few days ago and he's so gorgeous, I'm wanting to buy him some really special keepsake from his only auntie...any suggestions i've been leaning towards an engraved silver spoon from Tiffany's but thought maybe someone out here could suggest something interesting

Update:

i'm thinking of a keepsake a stroller is nice but he already has three and it's not something that he'll be able to have when he's older or be able to show his kids

Update 2:

thanks for the suggestion of the handmade wooden horse i don't think it's silly at all i've already found quite a few sites that not only do the horses but other animals as well i would have never thought of this so thanks so much for the wonderful idea

This might sound silly but when I was born my aunt had a rocking horse made just for me. She had them engrave my name on it underneath, along with my birthdate. I loved that thing dearly as a young child. It now sits in my son's room waiting for him get big enough to use it:)

A gift certificate for a professional photography session. There are even some that have packages where the child comes back at certain ages, like 6 months, 1 year, 2 year. Everyone will be taking candid photos but somehow very nice professional ones don't usually get done until the child is older. And they will be a keepsake for everyone.

I just had a baby 9 weeks ago, and the best gift I just received is a scrapbook that includes pictures during my pregnancy, my showers, and the first 2 months of his life. My mother-in-law did a great job, and she left about 10 more pages with a ton of supplies for me to continue. I've been so busy trying to adjust to a new baby in the family, so I really appreciate it. Photos last a life time, and the time it takes will mean alot to your nephew when he's older and also to his parents.

You are a great Auntie...all ready to begin the spoiling process:)

So many ideas really--- but my all time favorite gift is a temporal artery thermometer. They are just as accurate as a rectal reading, but they are just swiped across the child's forehead. Non evasive and just plain cool!

Another idea is to get the new Momma something too. After I had my babies, I always felt a little less attractive or what not. One time someone gave me some perfumed lotion and a gift certificate to a department store for new clothes (I could never fit back into my pre-momma days!) and I was just elated. How thoughtful huh?

I insisted on a shuttle device, having an infant pill that clips into the stroller is the terrific element ever. by no potential could wake a napping infant. and not lots of a splurge yet i replaced into shocked that it fee extra beneficial than $30, a shower thermometer- terrific bath toy for my son AND me.

As a mom I would think spending all that money on a silver spoon is a waste. If you do want to splurge at Tiffany's than maybe a silver picture frame that you can fill with a picture of your nephew and his favorite aunt.

no man will be excited about a tiffanys baby spoon!

its a great thought, but id say not worth it for this one.... that might be a better gift for a baby girl, she could even pass it on.

both of my kids have had "loveys." a special stuffed animal that they carry around and "love"......... like a blankie!!

get something adorable and have it kept in his crib as a permanent crib fixture... something he sleeps with as he grows, and he will start to "love" whatever it is and carry it everywhere!!

A set of brand new World Encyclopedias. It will be in remembrance of the year he was born, plus he will be able to use them once he is in school.

Go to "Things to remember" and have them embroder a blanket for him. Most malls have them.
