What is best to do when you're having lots of braxton hicks and false labor contractions?
I wrote braxton hicks and false labor contractions because I've had both the random ones and the close together patterned ones (for over an hour, but it was just false labor - cervix is still perfectly closed).
I don't think I really want to try any "natural inducing" techniques right now, because I think that would only lead to more false alarms at this point.
What I suppose I'm really wondering, is if it's better for my baby and my body to rest as much as possible at this point? Or is it better to keep going about my daily activities? (office job, etc).
----38 1/2 weeks - and I'll be seeing my doc tomorrow---
add- Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. I definitely needed them!

Keep to your regular routine as long it isn't too physical or too strenuous but make sure you get a good night sleep and if you want to nap-do it whenever you want to because it will be a loooong time before you get sleep once labor hits and you have the baby.

Make sure you are staying hydrated, it is very important. During both of my pregnancy's towards the end I would try to rest when I could but I would go for a walk every day for about 35-60 minutes depending on how I felt. Labor is hard work and I wanted my body "conditioned" for it. But that is a personal choice, and if you are having b-h walking can make them more painful but all they are doing is toning your uterus and opening your cervix. If your body is not ready to go into labor walking will not force it. Do what you feel is right. I do know that the daily walking helped me to get back into shape faster and it also helped me to feel better as the last few weeks of pregnancy are absolutely exhausting. You are almost there momma!

I didn't really have any braxton hicks either. I had a little bit around 37-38 weeks but that's it. I wouldn't worry about it too much, consider it a good thing!

Your doc will tell you to try to relax thru them. You are within the delivery window, so it may be better to take some time off now, maybe half days for a few then off? You may not want your water to break at work & have to be transported from there! Rest now, there won't be much after for a while!
Have you gotten your hospital bag together yet? Everything you will want? I had 4 new, cheap, big pillows to take with me, for support. I know you may want or have to work, but this is your time, & time for you to take care of the new kid in town! Enjoy it!

It is normal, your body is preparing yourself for labor. Just take it easy as you should this far into pregnency. It is good sign that you are having contractions.
