There is only one way to tune this - it is a very delicate amp - so whatever you do- be wary of people who seem to know what they are talking about - they don't! The JL audio 500/1 amp comes with a manual - if you don't have one - then look on JL online and download the manual. This provides helpful hints on how to tune your system for maximum performance.

power will go down slightly and you will lose 3-4 db over ported. But SQ will be better and the JL 1000/1 amp is a perfect match for this sub. It will look great matching and will sound amazing.
