It's a descent looking car for the price. The 2.4 motor has been around for a while and it looks like it doesn't have the cvt transmission which I think is another plus.I'm leary about about v6's and would rather have the less power but better reliability of the four banger.I would bet it rides as nice as it looks but I would take a close look at the quality of materials used in the interior.

When the Avenger was first released, I thought it was a pretty cool car but after some of the newer releases from Dodge and various other car manufacturers, it doesn't come across as setting any standards these days.
I'd probably drive one, I don't think they are bad cars. I've always been a Dodge fan so once the Shadow ES quits running, I may go with Avenger depending on what I can get.

Are you referring to the average rating or my personal rating? Since they may be different. The rating on this from the testers and consumers was rather low, scoring low on the scale with mixed reviews. Many would suggest it, but with a word of caution, while others would say to avoid it all together. My personal rating on the vehicle is a little different, since i have to deal with high end cars on a daily bases I've gotten a pretty good idea of what this car has to offer. Overall this things falls on the painfully average mark, almost feeling like driving an underpowered charger. With all the goodies they offer you'd thing they'd give the buyer a littler more then its standard cheap plastic style interior. Its noisy, small and despairingly need to have its brake redone. Basically its just average with no redeeming qualities, theirs nothing innovative about this thing. I'd think long and hard about getting one.

From a styling standpoint, the car is a knockout. IMHO, its miles better looking than its corporate twin, the Sebring. Chrysler has always been an industry leader in car design, though sadly I fear this car will not come anywhere near the sales of the first generation Stratus. If only there was a coupe edition waiting in the wings....

It's hard to say what the quality is on a new car model or redesigned old model.
My experience with Dodge is their quality is not up to par with Ford or Chevy, whose quality is not up to par with Japanese manufacturers.
With that said, Dodge's warranties leave something to be desired. I've had personal experience with Dodge.
After a rash (thousands) of 2.7 liter engine malfunctions where push rods failed in Dodge Inttrepids. Dodge stuck to their guns and claimed that it was a maintenance issue with each case. I changed my oil every 3K miles.
If it were me I'd steer clear of Chrysler products.
But I would take an old 'cuda

The Avenger looks pretty sweet, but I still prefer the Charger. They both have good bodies, but I like the grille more on the Charger.

Rented one in Hawaii... hated it!
Got home and back in my Impala and was happy with it all over again.
