    It's up to you of course but decent medical cover should give you peace of mind. The biggest problem abroad could be medical evacuation, which is the process of getting you back to your local hospital in the event something bad happens.     Seems like you're betting against yourself that you won't make it to your destination. I don't know anyone who buys it...now medical insurance for travel abroad is different. That is a good idea just in case.

    Anyone with an ounce of sense would.Even if it's very basic it's better than nothing.Think of the expense if something went wrong.Peace of mind,can't put a price on that.
