As with any curveball, it's a matter of rotation in relation to speed pitched.
I've never seen a curveball worth much in Slowpitch, but in Fastpitch it can be very effective.

it will spin outside to a righty batter .. and i dont know the grip but i know that you have to come across your body when you throw it .. hope that helps a little bit
