Why do liberals and conservatives fight so much?

What is up with all the conflict. I consider myself a moderate liberal, which I have heard is what most people are these days in the U.S. ("pro-choice with restrictions" says FOX News). But the two idealologies are so polarized these days and have such different beliefs, whats the point? Thats what makes this country so great--diversity. Its what makes us better than majority liberal or conservative countries. We have a nice mix. So why do we fight when we are always going to have different belief systems?

I am a moderate too. The conservatives and liberals really do hate each other and they both have valid reasons for doing so. The liberals want to give amnesty to all the illegal alien criminal invaders in this country, and they always stick up for the Islamic extremists who are trying to destroy Western Civilization. They want to allow gays to marry, and they are for abortion on demand. They support the awful ACLU who are totally against the Christian religion and are pro-illegal alien.

The conservatives ridicule anyone who wants to take reasonable measures to reduce our production of greenhouse gasses and they are irrationally against using human stem cells to do scientific research. Plus, they are against all abortions.

No, their will never be peace between these two groups, and the best strategy for moderates is to carefully pick your fights.

I chose illegal immigration and environmentalism as my two most important issues.

Because they are both A#SHOLES!!!!! There is no one answer or view for ANYTHING.

I think the abortion thing is a double standard. If somebody assaults a pregnant woman and the woman looses the baby that person is charged with murder to the unborn baby. But a mother has the RIGHT to murder a tiny baby.

So i say fine one abortion and a woman gets a mandatory cut and burn of the tubes so she can't have another baby.

But I think an abortion should be allowed if the birth will result in death to the mother.

I think welfare should end completely and be replaced with CCC and the old New Deal government work programs and also get welfare people to do the work "Americans" won't do. This will keep the kobs unavailable to illegals, make everyone earn their checks and save the government money on public works projects.

I think the aguraculture and medical fields should be conrolled by the government so all people can have access to food and medical care and people can stop raping us with rising prescription and food costs.

Farm owners and all medical would autimatclly be government emplyees in the GS system.

I look up to activists like Che Guevara, Tupac Shakur and Huey Newton.

I think Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are Grade A A@$HOLES!!! They need to be stopped.

I think Black History month the NAACP and United ***** College Fund should be taken away. These institutions only spread hatred and devide rather than unite us.

We need to respect eachother's views and come together as one race AMERICANS!!!!!

    Power to the people!!

The republicans tend to be people who work for a living and want to keep what they earn. It aggravates them that they spend extra hours away from their friends, family, and even the care of their self...so the government can scoop up the money and give it to someone else.

The liberals also have workers. Some make a lot of money too. Some feel sad for people who don't have money. The liberals want to help the people, and rather than writing a check from their own money, they legislate that "everyone" has to support their favorite government program.

If the liberals could figure out a way to just tax each other, this country would live in harmony :)

We've endured six years of a one-party government where people of different beliefs were systematically excluded from the democratic process. This has never happened to such an extent before in the nation's entire history, and it has left Domocratic politicians and to some extent the public, quite disgusted. The Republicans were trying to establish a permanent majority that some expected to last thirty years, and seeing it all fall apart so fast and so soon has left many of them feeling lost, confused and angry. The change is challenging their core beliefs about the nature of America and politics, and the only way many of them can make sense of it is to point to unlikely conspiracies.

Because sometimes it gets to the point that the foolishness of their ideals hurt the country, such as the truly idiotic Republican idea to attack Iraq shortly after 9/11 or the truly idiotic Democrat idea to just pull out without any preparations, but diversity is great, unfortunately with a leader and a prevailing mentality like the one we have in Washington, it is extremely difficult to respect that diversity andto cut down on divisions. United we stand divided we fall, God help us

It's human nature. At lease we are usually non-violent. In some other parts of the world people kill each other when the differ in opinion (in case you didn't notice).

My complaint is with all this vocal disagreement, how come the U.S. has such a poor voter turnout when we have elections?

Well, it's sad to say, but the people who endorse Socialist Communist policies,( Liberals of course,) want to shove Christianity out of the public square and tax people for going to church and all this other crazy stuff.

Secondly, Conservatives are trying to preserve our country all at the same time the Liberals are trying to destroy it!!

Something's got to give pretty soon, at any rate, I'm sure good will win out in the end!

They fight each other so they can have really hot "make-up" sex afterwards.

I'll be serious for a moment. I think that the Republican party has been hijacked by neoconservative ideologues and that this has greatly polarized things. I also think that Americans have lost a sense of "the greater good." I can't imagine this kind of acid infighting having happened during, say, the Great Depression, World War II, or the post-war boom years. It seems to have started in the 1980s with the rise of neoconservativism across the world.

Both parties are filled with patriotic Americans. Both sides hold strong ideas about what is the best way to keep America great. Both sides have evidence that they are right. Both sides think that the other party will, if they have their way, destroy our country.

Because Republicans care about the country and the Liberals care about themselves. That is why Kennedy was killed. He departed from party lines when he stated:

"Do not ask what your country can do your you, but what you can do for your country!"
