Why do people think that the Wii only has little kid games?

The Wii has games like Resident Evil, Scarface, The Godfather, Farcry, Call of Duty, Prince of Persia, Red Steel, Medal of Honor, Metroid, Mortal Kombat, Super Smash Bros., and those are the ones off the top of my head I am sure there are others. Sure most of the games are family-friendly, but not all of them, thank you.

Many people think that all Nintendo systems are kiddy systems. Why? First, let's look at Nintendo itself. That company is probably the best when it comes to making great games to support their systems, but all the games they make

for their systems are kiddy. The Marios, the Yoshis, the Super Smash Bros, Wii Sports. Yes, Nintendo did make Metroid Prime, but that still is seen by many to be not that much of a violent game and more of a !3 year old "I hate the world" type of game. Don't get me wrong. There are many parents and adults that enjoy playing Mario and Yoshi and Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros, but they need some games that quench their thirst for some great violent rated M games. They made over 500 games for the Gamecube and less than 90 were rated M and over 375 were rated E. The N64 only saw 300 games and only less than 45 were rated M. Yes the N64 saw some great violent games like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. But those years and the company that made those games are long gone. Secondly, Nintendo have major licensing issues. Yes they are better than Sony when it comes down to licensing and exclusives, but they still need a lot of work. the Wii will never see a GTA IV or The Darkness or Devil May Cry 4 because their a bit snooty and because of it, they lose quality games. Although the Wii is racking up more sales than the PS3 and the Wii has been sold out for almost a year, in the long run, Wii will rank 2nd place in sales at then end of this war. Nintendo hasn't been first since the Super Nintendo and they are praying and hoping of getting back on top one last time before they end up like Sega (making games for systems instead of making systems themselves) It would be heartbreaking playing Super Mario Bros 30th Anniversary on the Playstation 4 and Xbox 3. But I personally think that there are some great adult games for the Wii. Many people are lazy now days and they don't research things before buying. They just see some commercial and buy it. But research would show them that out of the 83 games available for purchase at local video game outlets that 7 of them are rated M, 21 of them are rated T, and 55 are rated E. But above all there are some rated E and T games that adults can enjoy too and even some of the T game are aimed for adults more than kids and teens. Here are the best rated E, T, & M games available for purchase on the Wii that adults can & will enjoy:

    Alien Syndrome

    Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree

    Bigs, The

    Blazing Angels: Squadrons Of WWII

    Call Of Duty 3

    Driver: Parallel Lines

    Excite Truck

    Godfather, The

    Heatseeker

Legend Of Zelda, The: Twilight Princess

    Madden NFL 2007

    Madden NFL 2008 (Coming 8/14)

    Mario Strikers: Charged

    Medal Of Honor: Vanguard

    Metal Slug: Anthology

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Coming 8/29)

    Mortal Kombat: Armageddon

    Need For Speed: Carbon

Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End

    Prince Of Persia: Rival Swords

    Red Steel

    Resident Evil 4

    Scarface

    Splinter Cell: Double Agent

    SSX: Blur

    Super Paper Mario

    Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2007

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2008 (Coming 8/28)

    Transformers

    Trauma Center: Second Opinion

    Ultimate Duck Hunting (Coming 8/31)

    Wii Play

    Wii Sports

There, I listed 33 games that adults will enjoy. 33 divided by 83 is 40%. 40% of the 83 Wii games are good games for adults. (Note that I didn't list Far Cry because it sucks) Is that enough for ya?

I wouldn't call Brawl an adults game. It's still a kid to teen game.

Most people still think Nintendo makes kids game because of it's reputation with the N64 and GC. While Sony and MS were making M rated games, Nintendo keeps putting out E to T games, with an occasional M rated game here and there.

Nintendo also didn't do itself any favor when it keeps saying that it's aiming at a different audience than Sony and MS. Nintendo has said that it's target audience are kids.

Those games that you listed are just a small population. Overall, the percentage of M rated games on the Wii is small compared to the percentage of M rated games on the PS3 and 360.

Why is it such a big deal that Nintendo doesn't make a lot of M rated games? Disney doesn't make any R rated movies, and it seems to be doing really well.

Ok thats real nice but look at nintendos history in regards to lack of adult titles/games compared to other systems...I can assure you there wont be too many more games like the ones you stated...gamecube was excellent but lack of sufficient adult titles helped to do it in among the older crowd willing to shell out good cash for quality gaming. Nintendo likes its niche and its making them money I dont think it will change anytime soon (they also have licensing issues with some of the popular adult titles and last I heard the case will the be the same for many games on the wii). Nintendo was built on the philosophy of making kid friendly games and bringing the kid out in gamers. Im not being nasty and I hope you dont take it that way but the image you think it has among many gamers is the image it wants..lol.

Because you never see those games promoted on TV. you only ever see Mario games etc being advertised , probably cos of restrictions on Mature games. even when there is a display console at the local department store they have child games setup

The only people who think that the Wii is for little kids, is the people who have not got one and therefore know nothing about them.
