Why do the Red Sox continue to pitch Eric GAG(ne)?

You need to keep pitching Gagne in the situations he was brought here for. He showed in Texas he can still pitch in close games and be good. Every pitcher has slumps. It just sucks he's having one when he first starts here. Remember when Sox fans wanted Francona to bench Pedroia at the beginning of the season and play Cora? Well he stuck with Pedroia and now he's going to be the Rookie of the Year. Like Pedroia, Gagne's going to have to keep getting the quality innings and he'll be fine. The whole team has been struggling lately. But last night Gagne came in and struck out the side in a scoreless 8th and the Sox came back to win. He will be a big part of the Sox bullpen over the last month of the season.

You gotta hope he'll turn things around and pitch like the Gagne you traded/paid for. But right now, Gagne needs to prove himself in the minors/blowout games to be worthy of pitching in the close games. I'd put him in the role Tavarez was in when he pitched exclusively in the bullpen.
