Good Entry Freeride Bike?

For that money, and if you really want a "freeride" capable bike, you'd better look for a used one.

If you don't need long travel, then you can find lots of used full-suspension xc bikes in that price range. Freeride/downhill bikes cost a lot and don't usually sell that cheap.

If you want a new entry-level freeride, check out the Iron Horse lineup. KHS and Jamis also have great bang for the buck.

Just to let you know, that is about just below the entry in to freeride/dirt jump pricepoints.

You don't want to settle for a normal hardtail - it WILL be in the shop more than it is ridden...

Save another hundred or two...

Check out the Trek Jack 1 - it is a fairly decent entry freeride bike

Also, Gary Fisher Opie, or Mullet, Specialized P3

There are a few of them, but you'll get what you pay for, and you want something strong...

My advice, head to your local shop, ans see whats around.

you might even be better off picking up a higher end bike used and fixing it up...
