My life improved greatly. My mother was much happier and I didn't have to listen to them fighting 24/7. My mother got remarried a few years later to a WONDERFUL man who treats all three of us as if we were his biological children. Best father I could ever ask for.

My parents seperated before I was ever born and divorced when I was 2 years old so really I don't even know what it's like to have parents that are married. It doesn't really effect me that much because I've never really known otherwise. However, as a kid I did sometimes feel left out when there were things such as father-daughter dances that I couldn't participate in, and I hated hearing that I couldn't have something I wanted because we didn't have any money since my dad didn't pay the child support.

  • Since my parents divorced, I was 13 then- now 23, it's been so much easier on me. I used to hate hearing them fight or just sensing that they had been arguing. I will admit at times it was hard but after a while you get used to the change in life. Now so many years later I look back and am grateful they did split because I can only imagine how bad it would have gotten.

My parents got divorced when I was 11. They weren't the kind of people that fought they just weren't happy together. It was the best thing ever. My mom became a new happier person, my dad became a better man. Not all divorces are bad. Kids know when things are wrong in a house hold and if people just stay in the marriage for the kids you are acutally hurting your kids more than just moving on.

I'm 19 now and my parents seperated when I was 12 because they were having problems, they didn't get along and would fight over everything. Plus, my dad was having an affair with my english teacher....I know and from then I hated my dad and my english teacher. Now I love my dad now and my step mom since we talked it out. They have 2 daughters now and 2 sons, a 16 year old girl who is my best friend, a 10 year old girl, a 4 year old boy, and a 6 month old boy. I love them all though now like my own blood family. I don't feel the same with my mom though because well now she just doesn't talk to me since I like my dad and step mom and she was an alcoholic. My dad and step mom always think of me as their own daughter though. I'm glad my parents got divorced though.

Well im 13 and when my parents divoriced it was kind of jaked up but now I get to live in both worlds. I go to school when im with my mom because the education is better where she lives.... the problem is there is no freedom though and theres alot of rules. Every summer i go with my dad..... which is fun... He lives about 4 or 5 states North of us. I get to do whatever i want beacuse he misses me so much and i only have that one and a half summer days 2 b with him. And when i come back my mom is excited to see me. In some way i think that makes me kinda of spoiled. But after the years i get used to it. It always best to have that close friend who u can tell most things to but the stuff u cant tell them you can keep it in a locked up jornal.

I was in 7th grade when my mom divorced my dad, but they had been fighting for as long as I could remember so I was glad about the divorce. He was a terrible alcoholic and we never knew what we would come home to. He would go to the bar after work and bring a case of beer home on top of that so he would be out of his mind! Sometimes he would pass out, argue with mom, try to commit suicide. It was really rough growing up!! I'm always surprised at how well I turned out!!

As it was happening I didn't think much about it.. Now years later I can look back and see how it has shaped some of my actions and feelings. I guess the main thing I learned was that there are ALWAYS two sides to a story and it was between my parents and had nothing to do with me.

At first, I was shocked that they wanted a divorce. I was only 8, but i knew what this meant. I always had 2 choose in between the 2 most important people in my life. My dad said, "Go live with your mom, u like her best!", and then there was bribery. "Keely, if you stay with me u can have a l8er bed time." I finally just said "Screw it" and lived with them both equally.

its been great, my dad was full of drama, so my situation wasnt like most, i was 11 when my parenst split and now im 23, id have to say to a child thats going through the same thing let your parents know how you feel, i was mad and really sad at first but after talking to my mom about everything i knew it was for the best.
