Why does iTunes constantly delete my library?
About once a month, iTunes decides to delete my entire library. This is done with no prompting by me. I simply open iTunes one day to find all my songs gone. I have TuneJack, so I CAN get my songs back on iTunes without having to re-rip every single CD I own, but it takes forever and I would really just rather be able to stop the problem at the source. What's going on?
Unfortunately, I have already redownloaded iTunes and that didn't do any good. I should also mention that TuneJack doesn't work half the time because once iTunes senses that my iPod isn't synced with it, it preemptively tries to delete all the songs on it. It asks beforehand, but basically by asking, my only choices are to let it delete all the songs off of my iPod or to "cancel," which prevents anything from happening either way.

If you illegally downloading music (limewire, ares, ect..) iTunes will automatically delete those songs. If your not downloading illegally it's a glitch in the iTunes software.

It does this to me too, besides the undeniable fact that for the period of my case i think of that's a DRM concern, because maximum of my series became ripped from 5 mega CD circumstances that I even have. curiously, even inspite of the undeniable fact that I very own the CDs (that are expert), iTunes retains determining to delete them in line with DRM (digital rights administration) risk-free practices. i ultimately provide up utilising iTunes and the subject stopped. additionally, that is nicely worth noting that unchecking the "KeepiTunes Media folder prepared" did no longer forestall the subject from many times happening.
