Sounds like the script for 'Life of Brian'. I can just see Dawkins yelling "but Im not the messiah!!!"
Crowd "You must be, only the true messiah would deny being the messiah!!!!!".

Amusing concept. People will worship anyone. I am a strong atheist and I would not join any organized religion. Dawkins is a strong atheist and he would not want to be worshipped. I will tell you this, if you start a Church of Richard Dawkins, it won't be atheists joining it. I have Dawkins' book and have read it, but he's not the only brilliant atheist author out there and I've read quite a few. He IS brilliant and I do admire him and agree with most of what he has to say. Oh...J. K. Rowling has written a pile of good books, too. You might look into starting a religion with those. They have magic and everything.

If you did, it would not be endorsed by Dawkins and in any event, if it was based upon Dawkins' rational principles, it would immediately admit that he is not worthy of worship and so collapse.
Which would at least prove the 'teachings' of Dawkins... so that would make it a valid position to follow... which would lend it more authenticity that any other religion....
You know, you might just have discovered the first recirculating religion.

Dawkins is sensible, down to earth and right in most of which he says. However, man is heart as well as mind, and this part of him needs satisfaction in the myths, stories and beliefs that clutter the world. If they provide mankind with a release of guilt, or give him 'salvation' leading to a moral lifestyle, then there is no harm in that. A world without the ridiculous superstitions would be a boring one indeed. We all have to decide what is myth and what is reality but the balance requires the appeasement of heart as well as mind.

There sort-of already is one..... atheism..... (minus the actual worship of Dawkins himself) though we could just bow down to Richard Dawkins for his brilliant intellectual arguments for our cause!!! It would be pretty hard to actually worship him though..... 'cause like if you prayed to him.... he wouldn't hear you! However.... Dawkinism does seem to have a nice ring to it.... see how many people you can round up haha x

Yes. It should be called
"the Egocentrifical Church of Proovabalism"
or the "Dawkinian Movement of Proovabilism"
Also known the Proovalist Church. Proof is of the essence.
Number one tenet: No matter how impossible it is to thoroughly explore all facets of the physical realm, we must base our life on the assumption that we can't believe in something until its prooven to us.

in reality, international, faith is increasing fairly dramatically. that's far less real interior the West, yet, nevertheless purely 2.3% of the international is atheist. in reality, greater, and greater anybody is determining that God exists, based usually because of the fact of each and every of the data for Him. purely interior the West is that any distinctive, or perhaps then, not by plenty.

You think eveyone who writes a book deserves a religion to worship them?
I thought that only applied to JK Rowling.

I think Richard Dawkins would prefer you to take a greater interest in science and fact and to discard outmoded superstitions and religious faith based on unreason.

Yeah, but he has that acidic sense of English humour. Every time you say something absolutely idiotic he turns it around in that infuriatingly English way and makes you feel like a total idiot!
(Plus I doubt if we could get him to agree to the crucifiction thing.)
