what to do when have physical custody of 17 yr old girl, in fla vacation but dad won't let her return ny
i have joint custody agreement, yet physical custody of a 17 yr old now on vacation in fla w/ dad, already enrolled in college here in ny, yet he wants to keep her there to attend college. she's already accepted and paid for quite expensive art school here, she really wants to attend, and yet hes trying to keep her there to register in a school w/ him. it seems that he already took her to a school to register, but she didn't- have a son w/ him attending school in fla already[he has custody of him-20 yr old]
my daughter is extremely shy, less assertive, intimidated by dad, and he may bully her into staying there- i'm sure that child support is an issue too-doesn't want to pay me]
how do i handle that situation?
just regained custody of her in feb 07, she didn't like school was at in fla-wanted to finish hs where she started -in ny, so i petitioned for custody and gotr it- father agreed at the time in court but now she grad in june, he wants her to move back there for college

It sounds as if Dad is in violation of the custody agreement. You may have to contact the court and your attorney to settle the matter. As far as the 20 year old, there is no custody problem since the boy is over 18.
Keep in contact with your daughter, and let her know you are working on bringing her back home. She may have to learn to be more assertive to Dad if she doesn't want to stay there.
