How do you skip a period?
I'm on the pill, have been for almost a year. I have never skipped a period but I'm supposed to be camping this weekend and I'm due to start this week. How do I skip this period? I really don't want to be on the rag out in the wilderness.

If you are on the pill, just don't take the placebo pills at the end of the pack and just start a new pack. This works for most bc pills. Just call a pharmacy and ask to double-check if its the same with yours.

If you're on the combined pill skip the week of sugar pills (or the week off) and start a new pack right away. Doing this should skip your period and does for most girls but sometimes it doesn't fully work as there is still a drop in hormones and you might experience some spotting.
If you're on the mini pill there is no way to do it.

If you are on a monophasic pill (same levels every week) then you can skip the placebo pill s to try to skip your period but it will probably still cause spotting . If you are on triphasic (like ortho tricyclin lo that give a different amount of hormones every week) then skipping the placebo pill won't work - you'll still have your period.

Why don't you use tampons?
There are 4 reasons here you could skip your period:
- change in diet (eating habits)
- change in your exercise routine
- lots of stress
- if you're pregnant
If you don't like tampons try something like mooncup that is wonderful.

from my understanding the way your period diminishes is through exercises. try working out if your not already doing so. keep active as much as possible and if you do start wear a tampon and make the best of your camping trip, good luck.

I don't think there is a way, other than getting pregnant. I'm sure you don't want that, though.
Best of luck.
