    4 - (-2^2)

    =

    =

    0

I think the answer is 0. a=-2, b=4. You plug that in you get 4-(-2^2) -> 4 - 4 (A negative squared equals positive,) So the answer would be 0.

    Given a = --2 and b = 4, then

    b -- a^2 = 4 -- (--2)^2

    = 4 -- 4

    = 0

    b-(a^2)

    =(4)-(-2)^2

    =(4)-(4) : as -2 x -2 = 4

    =0

    Hope this helps!

    b – a^2

    = (4) - (-2)^2 --------------- sub in given info ( a = -2 and b = 4 )

    =4 - 4

    = 0

    4. its a trick question b has nothing to do with it and -2 squared is 4 because a negative times a negative equals a positive.

please tell me you are kidding?

if you can't substitute a for a and b for b to get 4-(-2)^2=4-4=0, then how are you going to do any other assignment in this class?

I am so not mathmatically inclined. but I totally respect the fact that you have that kind of mind.
