    If you are speaking of total medals which is the measure of success then it is Carl Lewis. If you are speaking of social impact then it is Jesse Owens.

    i think Jesse Owens left a bigger impact as an olympian but Carl Lewis has 8 or 9 olympic medals so I would say Carl Lewis.

    Like #1 said. Owens made a huge impact but Lewis was the best.

    I would say neither and go with Michael Johnson.
