Is there a way to *exclude* certain songs from random play on an iPod?
I downloaded an audiobook that I got on sale into my iPod and it came in as 8 discs of about 50 (1 minute) tracks each...needless to say, that is now the most frequent thing to pop up when I select random play. Before I take them all off the iPod and iTunes, I wanted to know if anyone knew how to set the iPod to ignore certain songs on random play? I'd love to ignore the Christmas songs sometimes, too. and religious music when I want to get dressed for a club! But mostly I wondered if anyone knew if this was possible.

If you mean on shuffle mode, no. The only thing you can do is go to next song by hitting the foward button.

Make a playlist without all those songs you wouldn't want to hear, and play that playlist.
