Why is it so big deal if guy left toilet seat up?

I don't get it.

Someone use it this way, someone that way.

Is there some unwritten rule?

U don't know how old you are, it is a unwritten rule. Toilet seat down. It's only a big deal if you live with guys, and you wake up 2:00 in the morning to use the toilet no lights on,and that cold rim hits your butt. You think you're falling, then it becomes a big deal. If you live alone and are female you may never get it.

If you sit on a toilet sit that is unknowingly up you almost fall in the cammode. Ok, you can quit laughing. LOL. I am serious it's happened to me and it's hurt a couple times too. Then I get really ticked off but if I notice it and flip it down then it's not really a problem just slightly annoying because I think about what could have happened.

Also, it's just one of those things that's meant to be. I mean they are meant to be closed. I like the lid closed as well and then I sit on it and am like what the heck but at least I don't fall in.

just to make clean: i'm a guy. this is been basic, a minimum of a minimum of because of the fact the 70s, that being interior a bathtub/restroom while an open lavatory is flushed regularly consists of a minimum of 15 cases the ailment threat as having somebody with a chilly sneeze on your face. (i'm uncertain i elect to comprehend how some college in Arizona accumulated their archives.) this is not plenty the lavatory seat that we'd desire to placed down; this is the lid on appropriate of the lavatory seat. hence, I evaluate the lavatory seat argument beside the point. From the 70s in the process the 90s, I continually close the lavatory lid. because of the fact then my undesirable spouse has exchange into so crippled that if I forget approximately to bypass away the lid open, it provides this style of trouble, that she cries genuine tears! Likewise, now that i've got spent almost 50 years shutting front and returned doors in the back of me, like i grew to become into experienced to as a toddler, she needs me to income to bypass away them open, yet it is yet another tale.

Have you ever sat on a toilet with no seat and fallen in?? It's just respectful to put the seat back down the way a toilet should be.

it is a big issue because sometimes a woman doenst look before she sits and she ends up falling in the toilet. for example, let's say it's night time. a man and a woman are sleeping. the man gets up, pees, and leaves the seat up. everyone knows that in the middle of the night when one has to go, they are still sleepy minded. the woman wakes up next a while later and has to pee. her mind isn't focused on checking to see if the seat is down. she just wants to pee and go back to bed. she stoops to sit and 'WHOOSH!' she falls right in. that's why it's a big deal for a guy to put the seat down. it's common courtesy.

Not unwritten! It is polite to close the door after you open it......then put the seat down after it is lifted!........Just good manners.

I have actually seen (with two ex's) that sometimes they either have to go so bad or just go at night half asleep and don't even check to see if the seat is down and they fall in....

I guess they see the lid up but asume the seat is down and just go for it... serves them right for not making sure if you ask me...

I've never fallen in when the seat is up and I've had to take a crap, not even in the middle of the night so I don't see it as a viable excuse..... Guys, leave those seats up...

you have to train them until they understand that they have to look before you leap
