Christmas decorations usually start going up the first week of December. The first holiday markest usually open right after Thanksgiving. The tree at Rockefeller Center is almost always lit around December 5th.

Stores start displaying xmas stuff around halloween (late oct) Rockerfeller center lights the tree in the first week of dec.
