How come i cant give a good or bad rating here?

you need to be at level 2 to be able to rate answers good or bad. It won't let you do that now until you are at level 2 or higher.

If you keep answering questions that is 2 pts

voting ( not the same as rating ) this would be for undecided

1 pt

pick the person who answers you question here is 3 pts for you

if your answer is chosen as the best that is 10 points for you.

When you reach level 2 those thumbs will activate for you.

If you're talking about the thumbs up and down buttons then read the following:

Well first, you're are doing nothing wrong, it's just that you need to get to level 2 before you can use the thumbs up and down controls and that means getting over 250 points. 138 more by looking at your profile. But when you are able to use them, which is when you get to level 2, you have to press the actual thumbs up or down buttons and that will activate the control, which you have probably known before, but just to make sure. I've wondered and asked this question before. It's really no biggie. You can even check it out for yourself at the link to the site below.

And also, you probably know why you give thumbs up and down to people, but just to cover everything, I'll explain it anyways.

Well, usually when somebody gives you a thumbs up, it means that they like your answer and they think it is well done and everything so they give you a thumbs up and if you do actually get picked or voted as best answer, you'll get an extra point. And every thumbs up you get, another point, as simple as that!

And usually when somebody gave you a thumbs down, they don't like your answer because they might think it's not true or not in order with something or another so they give you a thumbs down, but if you get picked or voted for best answer for this, no matter how many thumbs down you get, it's not going to matter because that's just how the point system works I guess.

And just make sure that before you rate an answer good or bad, just try to realize before you do it, you are sure that that's what you're going to go with rather than the other way around, you know? So I'm just telling you to be careful, because you can NEVER take your ratings back.

And if none of this is working for you, then just simply try the link to the site below and it will let you ask questions after which it where says "Search For Questions" and compare them with other questions and then you can there see the answers to those questions and see if THAT'S what your looking for.

Get 250 pts. and you'll be on level 2. Then you can "rate" answers with "thumbs up" and "thumbs down." Just click on the “thumbs up” icon to give someone a “thumbs up” and show you approve of or like their answer; same but reverse meaning with “thumbs down,” click on the icon to show you disapprove or don’t like the answer.. It doesn’t cost you any points to “rate” an answer but, once you do rate, you’re stuck with that rating. You can’t later change your mind and decide they don’t deserve the “thumbs up” or have regrets about giving a “thumbs down.” They’re forever.

Stars are ways to show approval for questions. You click on the star icon to give a star, click on the same place to remove your star after you give it. No points involved..

Answer a question and get 2 pts. Ask a question and lose 5 pts. Choose the "best answer" to your question and get 3 of those 5 pts. back. Be chosen as "best answer" and get 10 pts. plus 1 bonus pt. for each "thumbs up" your answer received. There’s no deduction for “thumbs down.”

Anyone, even people on level 1, can "vote" but it's not the same as "rating" with thumbs up/down.

Vote for "best answer" on unresolved questions “in voting” and you get 1 pt. per question. You can vote by clicking on the “answer” toolbar at the top of the page then click on the “vote” tab or, when you see the list of questions available in a particular category, there’s a “vote” tab at the top of the questions. Either way, if you vote then you earn a point per question and help pick the “best answer.”

You also get 1 pt. every day for just logging in. It’s as easy as that!

Thumbs can only be used once you get to Level 2, 250 points, so hang in there.

maybe coz ur limited to the amout you have,Once you reach hat certain rate....well you cant do any more.Move up a lvl :)
