flat or vee jon boat?

I agree with the others. Depending on the water you will boating there are advantages to each. I have a flat bottom and can go though inches of water, literally and is also pretty stable. However, when I meet a big enough wake or wave it jars the boat pretty good. The V-Hull will cut through the waves better while riding. Good luck and I am sure you will enjoy whichever you choose. Speaking from experience, get the V if you are going on any waves over 6".

My flat bottom boat used to beat the heck out of me on choppy water and it didnt help itself either, the rough ride would loosen up the rivets (it was aluminum) and I was always looking for small leaks.

My Lund V hull rides so much smoother and corners nicer it is wonderful.

Jon boats are great in the proper location bit forget them if there are any waves to nogiate.

They do draw less water than a V hull, but only by a few inches and the prop is below that anyway.

The main difference is that a flat nose boat generally will not sit as deep in the water as a v-hull. A great advantage for small creeks, ponds etc. If your getting on a lake, the v-hull is the only way to go. It has a better ride and is better suited for choppy waters.

V hull is the way to go unless you plan on boating in 2 ft or less of water

in your situation I would definitly buy a vee hull they hadle chop and wakes way better but they have a deeper draft but it is a jon boat so its still not going to run very deep so unless your gigging buy a vee

I very much prefer the vee hull. They definitely cut through the water easier which is plain too see. Easier to oar or motor. Cuts through mossy areas easier also. You'll notice they cost more too. That is because they are a much better boat! Good luck fishing!
