If you go a little further out of the country, you can hit Mont Tremblant in Canada.

Smugglers Notch, Vt. is probably the best place you can go in the east coast...they have like 78 or so slopes, w/ all different terrian, and they have a lot of other things do in the resort, so if you get bored of snowboarding, then you can do something else.

Whiteface, N.Y. is pretty crazy...it's a very steep mountain, and a pretty nice terrain park.

Stowe, Vt. It's pretty much just a nice place to go, they have great slopes, and a great resort, and they have great snowmobiling if you get bored of snowboarding

Holiday Valley, N.Y is a pretty nice place, and it's probably the closest to VA, a lot of their trails are pretty nice, and they do respect snowboarders, b/c there are a lot of them

...those are probably the best places on the east coast in the states

you do not want to go to massachusetts the mountains there are basically hills, the largest mountain on the east coast is killington in vermont, but my person favorite is stratton where they host the us open of snowboarding, the have the #1 parks on the east coast, but if you are heading up to new york i would definitely reccomend whiteface, where they have hosted the olympics (lake placid).

No Mass. is not a good place to ski or ride. Go north to Vt. they have Killington, Mt Snow, Stratton, Okemo, Jay, Sugarbush and a whole lot more.

Mass. has little mountains, Vermont has much bigger ones.

Snowboarding was invented here in Vermont.

    It's a no-brainer Vermont is where it's at.

Maine has some good mountains but that's even further north.

actually Massachusetts is not the best place to go. the best place is definitely Vermont by far. my favorite is stratton. then there is also okemo. in new york there is an excellent mountain in lake placid called whiteface. but if you are traveling so far and want to experience different mountains then i suggest vermont because there are mountains within 30 minutes of each other. i know that stratton, okemo, piko and killington are relatively close to one another.
