Under what animal classification would we put centaurs?

    It would be difficult to classify a mythological creature; however, I would imagine it would be classified something like this:

    Kingdom: Animalia

    Phylum: Chordata

    Class: Mammalia

    Order: Perissodactyla

    Sub Order: Primates

    Family: Equidae

    Sub Family:Hominidae

    Genus: Homoequus

    Species: Homo caballus

    Who knows? If these creatures existed they would not fit into our current classificaiton system and we would have to make some modifications.
